Test Vehicle Development
The new UltraHDI board is ready for inner layer routing. Layer counts, trace widths < 3mils, and blind, buried and stacked microvias can be tested at any configuration in the PCB.
Assembly features as small as 008004 (Imperial) are ready to be tested with different footprints and orientations, and population densities.
Capability Analysis
The new design enables OEMs, fabricators and assemblers to test the manufacturing capabilities of different operations. Understanding manufacturing capability helps develop design guidelines to optimize production yields – and therefore profitability.
DFM Guidelines
Design rules are based on two main factors: capability and cost. Creating products with an eye toward manufacturing capability constraints saves time-to-market, yield loss and warranty costs. Understanding the cost drivers of any given process – not just PCBs – helps designers ensure producibility and scalability.
Analyzing production capabilities and costs enables informed decision-making early in the development stage, before many of the cost drivers are locked in. It’s no coincidence that the manufacturable design costs less to produce, and that the design with lower cost drivers are more manufacturable. The collaborative nature of DMFA activities is essential when working with emerging technologies.
